Full, round buttocks are often viewed as sign of beauty and vitality. Magazine covers and TV programs often emphasize the fuller buttocks. While Cosmetic Plastic Surgeons have been able to augment the breast they haven’t until recently been able to change the shape of the buttocks. The silicone implants didn’t give enough volume and often became hard or migrated out of place.
One of the great advances in plastic surgery over the past 20 years has been the advent of fat transfer. Following liposuction to collect the excess or unwanted fat cells they are then transferred from one area of the body to another. Structural fat transfer has become much more common and more reliable. With liposuction and fat transfer we can make the waist smaller and the buttocks rounder. This procedure often referred to as a Brazilian Buttock Lift. We like to refer to this as a buttock augmentation through structural fat transfer. The procedure is tailored to the individual characteristics and optimized for the individual’s goals. Recently we had one such person whom desired a rounder full buttocks. She had thought about this for years and finally decided to something about it. A transfer of 400 cc of fat from the abdomen to the buttocks was performed! These are her before and after photos. We are so excited for her. Her pant size has gone up by 2 sizes!

Many women around Sacramento are realizing that they can enhance their shape through plastic surgery. One of the more common combinations of procedures in Sacramento at Chrysalis Cosmetics has been the mommy makeover. Usually this procedure addresses the abdomen and the breasts at the same time. Some women have liposuction, others choose a tummy tuck. Some women will have a breast lift and others will have a breast augmentation using either silicone gel implants or saline breast implants. Before going on her vacation this summer she wanted to get bikini ready and didn’t feel comfortable with the excess skin around her tummy. She was also interested enhancement of her breasts that while beautiful naturally appeared a bit deflated to her. She elected to have a breast augmentation with a small implant placed to enhance her cleavage as well as a tummy tuck and some liposuction along her waist. Her recovery was uneventful and she is excited to get new clothes as she has lost a few sizes. She looks great and feels fantastic. Her waist was really framed nicely by her hips and breasts and her breast incision is well hidden and the abdominal incision can easily be hidden with the right bikini. It is rewarding to witness the exciting changes plastic surgery offers for healthy individuals in the Roseville, Folsom, Stockton areas. We are so happy for her at Chrysalis Cosmetics.

Liposuction of the neck often brings out the slender graceful features we naturally have that can occasionally be covered up by loose fatty tissue. At our Sacramento California office, Dr Charles Perry uses a variety of techniques to enhance the contour. Micro liposuction was utilized to enhance this beautiful woman’s features. She has been exercising and dieting however has been unable to reduce the excess fat under her chin. Micro liposuction and Prolipo techniques were utilized to reduce the fat and enhance her jaw line. Notice how refined she looks after the liposuction. She used no pain medicine before or after her procedure. She was awake throughout her procedure and went back to work afterwards. Of course she is an exception and her results are quite remarkable for liposuction especially considering these after photos are less than two weeks following her plastic surgery.

One of the most exciting develops in the past few years in plastic surgery has been the realization that we can tighten skin without surgery. Using infrared light, laser or radiofrequency plastic surgeons in Roseville, Folsom, Stockton, Modesto have been tightening peoples skin through heat. By heatingthe collagen deep to the skin we are able to tighten and contract loose areas of skin.

One of the exciting new trends for men this year has been Liposuction. Now more than ever we are seeing men doing something effective and immediate to enhance their look and physic. Liposuction is one of the most common procedures performed for males. From the neck to the abdomen and chest and flanks liposuction is often the little nudge that is required to get over the hump many men experience while trying to contour their bodies through weight loss by going to the gym or running. While liposuction is not for everyone, healthy individuals with body mass indexes below 30 Kg/M2 usually tolerate the fat reduction well. While some patients do experience pain, bruising and swelling, these symptoms usually resolve over the course of 2 – 6 weeks and the contour enhancement usually looks its best in 3-6 months. Of course all surgeries have risks including but not limited to infection, irregular contours, loose skin, numbness, hospitalizations, bleeding and additional surgeries, most people are very happy with their new look and would do it again.

People from Carmichael, Folsom and Roseville as well as Modesto are discovering the joy of contouring the neck and chin through liposuction. One such example is this beautiful women pictured here. She was bothered by the fullness under her chin. Despite losing weight and exercising to her fullest she found that this area just wouldn’t improve despite the effort. When she decided to proceed with body contouring we were all very excited for her. She underwent tumescent liposuction and laser liposuction using the Sciton Pro-lipo device. In under an hour 100 grams of fat was removed. She was awake for the procedure and worked the rest of the day. She was a bit swollen for a week but continued to work and did not require pain medication. Since that time she continues to receive compliments on her beauty and no one quite knows what it is she has done but they all love it.

One of the most common procedures for males in the Roseville, Folsom, Stockton, Elk Grove areas is liposuction. Using tumescent anesthesia and VASER (Vibrational Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) Dr Charles Perry, Medical Director of Chrysalis Cosmetics, has been able to perform liposuction without anesthesia in the office. Some male patients are experiencing minimal to no downtime. For example the patient pictured here was bothered by the extra fat around the belly button. Despite exercising, dieting, and running the area seemed to stay the same. After a consultation and reviewing the health history and risks of the procedure the male patient decided to proceed with liposuction to contour this one resistant area. Once the tumescent liposuction fluid was inserted the Vaser was used to emulsify and the fat selectively and then heat the skin to help with contraction of skin as well. Using small cannulas hidden through the belly button – 250 cc of pure fat was removed. The patient then wore a compression garment for a week.

Have you ever wanted to decrease the amount of fat on your belly? Read on as this blog is for you. A recent study in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal (Vol. 28, Issue 4 July/August 2008) revealed that liposuction using Vaser techniques resulted in less blood loss than traditional liposuction. This is exciting news when one considers that the Vaser Liposuction utilizing ultrasound allows the surgeon to remove up to three times more from the back, hips, and flank region according to the study. Vaser Liposuction uses sound energy to create selective fat emulsification. The ultrasound waves are tuned specifically for the fat cell membranes. During the procedure the fat cell’s (adipocyte) membrane starts vibrating at the ultrasound specific frequency and membrane dissolves allowing the fat to be removed as a liquid through gentle suction. As opposed to standard liposuction were the whole cell is removed with a larger cannula and more vigorous movement. We are excited to offer this exciting new technology.
