Candidates for breast augmentation are usually women in reasonably good health who are dissatisfied with the appearance of their breasts. Alternatively, patients may seek breast implants to address unwanted changes brought on by pregnancy, disease, or trauma. To help determine the optimal type of implant and correct size for you, Dr. Perry uses the Mentor® Breast Augmentation Visualizer to preview results. He can perform the surgery using a variety of different methods based on your anatomy and cosmetic desires. The procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia in an outpatient setting.
Just as Dr. Perry tailors each breast augmentation to flatter the curves of a patient’s bust, he performs the Brazilian butt lift to enhance the unique proportions of the buttocks. He can often provide enhancement of the hips and waist with this procedure, as well. In general, a Brazilian butt lift includes the use of fat grafting, or the harvesting and repurposing of fatty tissue from another area of the body via liposuction, to contour the buttock areas. Candidates for BBL typically want to augment, shape, or otherwise contour their buttocks. Because the procedure by definition involves fat grafting, eligible patients should have sufficient fat in another area of the body that can be used to supplement volume in their buttocks.* If patients do not have enough fat elsewhere on their body, they may be better suited for buttock implants.
As with breast augmentation, candidates for BBL should be in good health and have realistic expectations about the procedure. Like breast augmentation, the Brazilian butt lift is generally performed in an outpatient setting under general anesthesia.
