Xeomin®, developed by Merz Aesthetics, is a new alternative to BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® that can rejuvenate wrinkles, creases, and frown lines along the face. This innovative injectable treatment can also help patients who suffer from hyperhidrosis and excessive underarm sweating. What makes Xeomin® unique is that it has a lower protein count than BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport®, which can help patients who have developed antibodies to those procedures. Xeomin® is also slightly less expensive than other injectable treatments. As a leading plastic surgeon, Dr. Charles Perry is now offering Xeomin® for patients who wish to rejuvenate their appearance and diminish signs of aging in the face.

Please contact Dr. Perry at Chrysalis Cosmetic for more information on Xeomin®, or to schedule a consultation here at our practice.

Is Xeomin® Right for Me?

Candidates for Xeomin® treatments include patients who are in reasonably good physical and emotional health. Those who have active infections or inflammations in the areas targeted for treatment and those who suffer from neuromuscular disorders may not qualify for this procedure. Women who are pregnant, who may be pregnant, and those who are breastfeeding are also not the best candidates for Xeomin® treatment. Individuals who are allergic to botulinum toxin are not candidates for Xeomin® procedures. Dr. Perry will discuss all aspects of this procedure with you at your initial consultation and determine if you are a good candidate for Xeomin®. If not, Dr. Perry can recommend alternative options to help you attain your goals.

Things to Consider Before Undergoing Injections

Although the effects of this non-surgical cosmetic enhancement product can last several months, we can create a treatment schedule for you to help keep results going for longer periods of time.

Without occasional “touch-up” sessions, wrinkles and creases that have been treated with Xeomin® will reappear.

You should not experience completely “frozen” features with Xeomin® treatments, and you should still be able to express emotions via facial expressions.

How Is Xeomin® Injected?

Xeomin® contains a highly-diluted form of botulinum toxin, which works to temporarily prevent facial muscles in the target areas from contracting. It is this muscle contraction that causes wrinkles to appear. With a very fine needle, Dr. Perry will inject Xeomin® into the targeted areas in a procedure that typically takes 15 minutes or less to complete. You can have a topical numbing agent applied to the area before the injection to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

Results of Xeomin® treatment can last up to four months, and be maintained with follow-up treatments.
