The long hot summer is coming to an end, and many Californians may be noticing some extra wrinkles and skin damage caused by the sun’s rays. With the recent uptick in patients opting for non-surgical aesthetic enhancement options, one plastic surgeon in Sacramento is helping restore healthy skin to a more youthful sheen.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, more than 10.2 million people had some type of aesthetic procedure performed last year in the U.S. alone. Nearly half of those procedures were for non-surgical options designed to smooth out and rejuvenate skin that’s showing signs of age and sun damage. Dr. Charles Perry is head of Chrysalis Cosmetics, a Sacramento plastic surgery practice that offers a range of surgical and non-surgical enhancement options that can help patients restore healthy skin to a more youthful glow. And after a particularly harsh California summer, Dr. Perry says patients can reverse some of the effects of the sun’s rays with minimally-invasive procedures. “It’s amazing to see what a little fine-tuning and enhancing an area of the body can do for someone’s self-confidence.”

Dr. Perry says patients considering procedures such as a facelift in Sacramento are typically those who would like more significant, lasting results that address more severe signs of age in the face. But those who would like subtle rejuvenation that targets specific facial and skin areas may find injectable options and laser treatment more suited to their goals. Injectable options such as Restylane®, Sculptra, and BOTOX® Cosmetic in Sacramento are designed to smooth out lines, wrinkles, and deep creases in a variety of facial areas. A few of the reasons these treatments may have become so popular is that they are quick procedures (typically lasting under 30 minutes) and generally require no downtime. Not to mention that the results are usually instantaneous and effective, significantly reducing signs of age and excess wrinkling caused by exposure to the sun.

Patients can also take advantage of special after-summer offers from Chrysalis Cosmetics. This season, Dr. Perry is offering $500 off laser skin resurfacing when combined with eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) to significantly improve the appearance of age and exhaustion around the eyes. Dr. Perry says Sacramento laser skin resurfacing treatment at Chrysalis Cosmetics is a way of harnessing light energy to improve a number of skin conditions and combat the effects of the sun’s rays. “We can choose to remove fine lines, we can tighten the skin, we can make the pores smaller. But really what we’re trying to achieve is to improve the texture and quality of your skin.” Using state-of-the-art laser systems, Dr. Perry can eliminate outer layers of skin damaged by the sun and affected by uneven pigmentation, age spots, rosacea, wrinkles, and other conditions. Dr. Perry says laser skin resurfacing treatments target specific areas of skin and work to bring forth the healthy layers underneath. The result can be a smoother, more youthful appearance and the promotion of healthy skin growth.

With a range of procedures and skin care products available to both women and men, Dr. Perry says the beating of the sun’s harmful rays and the natural aesthetic conditions that come with stress and age can be corrected and the skin renewed to make patients look younger and more vibrant. And -maybe most important of all – help them feel better about themselves and their appearance.
