Dr. Charles Perry provides potential breast lift patients the specifics on what they can expect with the surgery consultation, procedure techniques, and follow-up visit.

Sacramento, CA — At his Sacramento plastic surgery practice, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Charles Perry reveals that around 25% of breast augmentation patients will also require a breast lift to achieve their aesthetic goals. Similarly, he explains that patients requesting a breast lift may be satisfied with a breast augmentation in addition to the lift. Depending on their goals and enhancement needs, Dr. Perry examines each patient and recommends options that can provide the desired results.

Beginning with the breast lift consultation, Dr. Perry listens to the patient’s goals, which he believes is the most important part of the process. From there he conducts a breast examination, where he and the patient discuss options for achieving the desired results, using photos for reference. If needed, Dr. Perry will have the patient try on implant sizers, lifting the breast to the position desired. By doing so, he can determine candidacy for his three surgery techniques:

Dr. Perry selects the best technique based on the distance needed to lift the breast. He explains the purpose of the circular one is to improve the overall symmetry and breast shape. The vertical technique helps with both shaping and upper pole fullness. The inverted t-shaped lift can be used with an implant for lasting upper pole fullness or without one by shaping the breast tissue to enhance the breast.

Regardless of the technique Dr. Perry uses, he requires a follow-up visit to monitor the recovery process after the first week. An additional check up is done at six weeks to assure the breast shape is forming appropriately. For long-lasting results, the Sacramento plastic surgeon has two recommendations: continue to wear bras and retighten the breast later. Since larger implants and major weight loss tend to cause the need to re-tighten over time, he performs this procedure to maintain optimal results. In the end, his main goals are to shape the breast and lift the nipple. However, since every patient differs in which procedure is best, Dr. Perry urges potential patients to schedule a consultation with a board-certified surgeon to learn about their options.
