Restylane®
Restylane Cosmetics for Facial Rejuvenation in Sacramento California at Chrysalis Cosmetics Serving Roseville, Folsom, Stockton and Beyond
Restylane® is a clear gel that contains hyaluronic acid suspended in water molecules. Hyaluronic acid is the same substance that gives volume to youthful facial tissue. It is simply and safely injected during a short session at Dr. Perry’s office, and requires minimal or no downtime.
Once injected, Restylane® maintains its shape by binding to your body’s natural moisture. However, results do not last forever, as Restylane® is gradually absorbed by the body over a period of about six months. Touchups every six months will maintain your new look
Candidates for Restylane®
Restylane® is ideal for those wishing to improve their facial contours, minimize creases, or augment their lips. As long as you are over 18, are of stable mental and physical health, and have a good understanding regarding the limitations of Restylane®, you are a good candidate for this treatment.
Things to Consider Before Undergoing Restylane® Injections
Restylane® may be combined with BOTOX® Cosmetic
By combining these two products, facial hollowness and diminished lip volume can be addressed at the same time as fine lines.
Results last up to six months
For this reason, we encourage patients to schedule follow-up appointments at the time of the initial treatment.
Restylane® is hypoallergenic
Because Restylane® does not contain animal proteins, the risk of allergic reactions is low, and no skin test is required prior to treatment as with other dermal fillers.
How is Restylane® injected?
Restylane® injections at our Roseville-area office are simple and quick. Typically, each session lasts 20 to 30 minutes. Your surgeon may numb the area with a local or topical anesthetic before injecting the Restylane®, which appears as a clear gel. Restylane® yields immediate results, and you will be free to resume your normal activities after treatment.
Risks of Restylane®
Complications related to Restylane® are all related to the injection of the product, rather than the product itself. Risks of Restylane® injections include:
Discomfort
Redness, bruising, swelling, tenderness, and moderate pain may occur after treatment. These effects will disappear within a few days.
Disappointing or unnatural result
Especially when Restylane® is used to augment the lips, the product can yield an unnatural, asymmetrical, or otherwise disappointing result.
